It is clearly important that Route 4 should closely match the route flown when planes are using the conventional SID system, as it was in the recent past.
Here in south Redhill, where we have been for 21 years, we were not overflown by the conventional SID. But the change from conventional SID to RNAV moved aircraft nearer to us, causing considerable noise problems. Over the last two or three summers we have had repeated overflying by planes at under 4000ft, according to the Gatwick flight website, making conditions often impossibly noisy for conversation in our garden.
The approved Route 3 RNAV is not on the centreline of that NPR so it is wrong to think that the Route 4 RNAV is on the centreline of its NPR. There should be no revision to the Route 4 NPR.
