Overview

The CAA aims to implement the regulatory framework and operational systems needed for commercial passenger flights by new types of vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft by the end of 2028. The CAA is identifying the regulatory changes needed to accommodate the safe use of these new types of VTOL aircraft in the UK, whilst supporting sector growth, innovation, decarbonisation and international alignment.

The CAA is seeking views from the public and VTOL industry stakeholders on our proposed legislative changes.
